TULSA, Okla. – Picking up right where they left off on Friday night, the Oral Roberts baseball team won 3-1 over Houston Baptist on Saturday afternoon.
Isaac Coffey became the first Golden Eagles pitcher since May 2011 to throw back-to-back complete games. Coffey also became the first ORU pitcher to strikeout exactly 12 hitters since Alex "Chi Chi" Gonzalez did so on April 27, 2013 against Nicholls State.
As a team, the Golden Eagles needed just three hits to take down the Huskies on Saturday. With Coffey's dominant start, the Golden Eagles needed one swing of the bat.
In the second inning,
Alec Jones gave the Golden Eagles an early 2-0 lead with a towering home run down the left field line. Jones has now hit home runs in each of the last two games in which he has played.
