TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team kicked off their weekend series against Houston Baptist with a 6-1 win on Friday afternoon in Tulsa.
Tanner Rogen threw a phenomenal game for the Golden Eagles, allowing just one earned run through 7.2 innings of action. In the seventh inning, Rogen needed just three pitches to send the Huskies down in order.
Adam Scoggins came on in relief of Rogen, picking up his third save of the season. Scoggins struck out the side in the ninth inning to finish the game.
Blake Hall opened the scoring in the second inning with an RBI double to left field, scoring
Adam Oviedo. Hall added a second run-scoring double in the fourth, when he drove in
Caleb Denny with a ball to the left-center gap.
In the sixth inning,
Jake McMurray added a single to left to score
Brody Gibson from third base and push ORU's lead to four.
Houston Baptist broke up Rogen's shutout in the eighth inning with a single to center field to cut the deficit to three.
In the bottom half of the eighth, Hall added a pair of insurance runs for the Golden Eagles when he hit a towering home run to left-center field.
Turning Point
Blake Hall's three-for-three day at the plate with four runs batted in continued to keep the ORU offense moving throughout the day.

- Hall's four RBI are a new season-high while three hits matches his personal best. The redshirt senior also tied his single-game high with a pair of doubles.
- Rogen's 7.2 innings pitched matched the longest outing of his career, previously coming against Merrimack on February 15, 2020.
- The Golden Eagles drew more walks (6) than they had strikeouts (5).
- Scoggins three strikeouts matches his career-high.
- Ryan Cash tallied his 13th multi-hit game of the season, pushing his conference leading hit total to 39.
