OMAHA DeShang Weaver captured his first career double-double in the Oral Roberts men's basketball team's 100-88 win at Omaha Thursday evening.
 
The Golden Eagles returned to form on Thursday hitting 14-for-30 from the three-point line. Max Abmas went 6-for-11 from three and 10-for-20 overall to lead all scorers with 28 points for his 17th consecutive game with 10 or more points. Off the bench, Issac McBride had 18 on the night and Elijah Lufile scored 13. Weaver had 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to make him the fourth Golden Eagle in double-digits.
 
After four lead changes in the first half, the Golden Eagles got things going with an 11-2 run that began at the four minute mark. ORU shot 45 percent in the first half to lead by as much as nine. Omaha's Nick Ferrarini nailed a half-court shot to make it a 42-36 difference at the end of the first 20 minutes. Abmas was the only scorer to reach double-digits in the first half with 16.
 
ORU started the second half on an 11-2 run to extend its lead to 16 at the first media timeout. Lufile then put the Golden Eagles up by 20 with 13:21 to go on an alley-oop from Abmas. The Golden Eagles led by as much as 23 after McBride hit a three-pointer with 7:41 to play. However, the Mavericks fought back and went on a 17-4 run to cut it to a nine point game with 2:43 remaining. ORU was able to extend the lead back to 12 to end the game with a 100-88 victory to claim its fifth conference road win of the season.
 
Omaha's Ferrarini had 20 points on the night and was one of five Mavericks to score in double figures. Akol Arop captured a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. As for the Golden Eagles, it was the sixth-consecutive win for ORU over Omaha and the third-straight win in Nebraska.
 
 
Turning Point
After leading by six at halftime, the Golden Eagles went on an 11-2 run to start the second to lead by 16 in the first five minutes.       

Individual Leaders
Oral Roberts: Abmas ended the night with 28 points and Francis Lacis and Weaver grabbed 10 rebounds each.

Omaha: Ferrarini scored 20 and Arop grabbed 13 boards.

- ORU 51.9 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc.

- For his 17th consecutive game, Abmas had 10-plus points. It was his 10th-straight game to lead ORU in scoring. He's had 12 20-plus point games this season.
 
- The Golden Eagles 7-0 this season in bounce back games.
 
- For the second time this season, ORU scored 100 or more points on the Omaha Mavericks. It was the 116th time in program history and seventh time under Head Coach Paul Mills for ORU to score 100-plus points.
 
- With six road wins this season, it is the most road wins for the Golden Eagles since the 2012-13 season.
