TULSA, Okla. – Six Golden Eagles scored in double-digits as the Oral Roberts men's basketball team beat Ozark Christian, 116-68, on Native American Heritage Night Tuesday evening at the Mabee Center.
 
Trey Phipps led ORU Tuesday evening with a career high 31 points. Phipps also had a career high six three-point makes to go along with his career high 11 made baskets. Nate Clover III captured a career high in points and rebounding with 15 points and 10 boards for his first career double-double.
 
Oral Roberts controlled the entire game by maintaining a lead for all 40 minutes. Out of the gate, DeShang Weaver hit a three-point shot to get things going. Through the first 10 minutes, ORU would lead by as much as 12. The Golden Eagles took their largest lead of the first half, 16, with a three-point bucket by Demari Williams. Ozark Christian was able to cut the lead back down to eight before the Golden Eagles jumped back ahead by 12 going into the break, 54-42. Both teams shot 50 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes. Carlos Jurgens led all scorers in the first with 14 and Phipps was close behind with 13.
 
It was all ORU in the second half as the Golden Eagles racked up 62 second half points and held the Ambassadors to 26. Oral Roberts went on a 32-4 run in the first 10 minutes of the final half leading 86-49. In the final five minutes, ORU out-scored OCC 15-7 to win 116-68. To end the night, the Golden Eagles had six in double-figures and all 10 Golden Eagles who played recorded points.
 
It was a career and season setting night on the Mabee Center floor for ORU. Patrick Mwamba scored a season high 12 points and had nine rebounds. Jurgens captured a season high in points and makes and Williams had a career high 13 points scored. It was the 85th win in ORU history when the Golden Eagles score 100-plus points.

Individual Leaders
Oral Roberts: Phipps scored 31 points on the night and Clover III grabbed 10 rebounds.

Ozark Christian: Joel Pugh recorded 16 points and Danny Foster pulled down six boards.
