TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team returns to J.L. Johnson Stadium for their 2022 home opener Tuesday as they host non-conference foe Missouri State in midweek action. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.

• Tuesday's contest marks the 61st meeting all-time between the Golden Eagles and Bears, with ORU holding a 32-28 edge in the series history. At J.L. Johnson Stadium, the Golden Eagles hold a 20-14 edge.
• After sweeping last year's series against ORU, the Bears have now won 21 of the last 30 matchups against the Golden Eagles.
• ORU went 1-2 at the South Alabama Invitational over the weekend to open their 2022 season, with their lone victory coming against South Alabama, 3-1, on Saturday.

Jake McMurray extended his hitting streak to 20 games dating back to last season and tallied a team-best six walks on the trip.
• ORU was selected as the unanimous favorite to retain their regular season crown in the 2022 Summit League Preseason Coaches' poll, garnering 36 points and all six of the possible first-place votes they could attain.

Isaac Coffey earned plenty of preseason accolades as the junior was selected as the Summit League Preseason Pitcher of the Year by both D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA. The Goleta, California, native also garnered Preseason All-American honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Collegiate Baseball. OutfielderÂ
Joshua Cox was selected as the Summit League Player of the Year by both D1 Baseball and Perfect Game USA.Â
Brooks Fowler garnered Preseason Summit League Freshman of the Year honors from D1 Baseball.
Scouting the Opponent
• Missouri State opened their 2022 season at Central Arkansas over the weekend, coming away with a 2-1 record. The Bears offense had a strong showing on the weekend, driving in 34 runs and slugging six home runs. Mason Hull powered the Missouri State attack with three homers and 10 RBIs.
• The Bears pitching staff registered a 3.46 ERA on the weekend to go with 24 strikeouts in 26 innings of work.
• Missouri State was picked to finish sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Coaches' poll after finishing 21-23 last season. Catcher Drake Baldwin and pitcher Trey Ziegenbein were selected to the all-MVC preseason team.
