OXFORD, Miss. – The Oral Roberts baseball team dropped their series opener with No. 2 Ole Miss, 16-2, Friday afternoon in Oxford, Mississippi.

After the Rebels jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, Mac McCroskey brought the Golden Eagles to within one, 3-2, in the fourth with a bases-loaded walk. Ole Miss responded with 13 unanswered runs to pull away.

Ole Miss plated four in the fourth, seven in the fifth and two in the seventh to make the final 16-2.

Justin Quinn put ORU on the board in the second with an RBI single through the right side that plated Caleb Denny, cutting the deficit to 3-1.

The Golden Eagles threatened to do more damage in the top of the fourth as they loaded the bases with nobody out but were only able to push across the one run.

Inside the Box Score
- Holden Breeze, Jackson Loftin and Quinn each tallied multi-hit games.
- Breeze pushed his hitting streak to eight games.
- McCroskey extended his on-base streak to 13 games.
- Sam Rainwater tossed 1.2 scoreless innings in relief, striking out two.

- This was the fifth meeting all-time between the Golden Eagles and Rebels and the first since 1982.
