OXFORD, Miss. – The Oral Roberts baseball team dropped their third straight contest in the first half of Sunday's doubleheader at No. 2 Ole Miss, 6-2, in Oxford, Mississippi.

Both Sunday contests were slated for seven innings.

Trailing 4-2 in the sixth, the Golden Eagles loaded the bases with two outs but were unable to scratch across any runs in the frame. Ole Miss capitalized in the bottom half of the inning with a two-run homer to right-center to turn the momentum in the game and put the Rebels up 6-2.

A three-run second inning gave Ole Miss the early lead and Tim Elko tacked on another in the third with a solo home run to center to push the Rebels lead to 4-0.

In the fifth,
Jackson Loftin got the Golden Eagles back into the game with an RBI double to left field. The redshirt junior later came around to cross the plate on a
Mac McCroskey RBI fielder's choice to cut the deficit to 4-2.

OXFORD, Miss. – Alec Jones delivered the go-ahead home run and the Oral Roberts baseball team picked up their first win over a Top-2 ranked team in program history in Sunday's series finale, defeating No. 2 Ole Miss, 8-4.
The win was the first by a visiting team in Oxford, Mississippi, this season as the Rebels were previously 11-0. The Golden Eagles also snapped their three-game skid with the victory.
After Ole Miss put up a four-spot in the third to even the score, 4-4, Jones took a pitch the opposite way to right-center in the fourth to put the Golden Eagles back in front for good, 5-4.

AJ Archambo improved to 3-0 on the year after striking out six over five innings of work.
Cade Denton and
Evan Kowalski each tossed scoreless frames in the sixth and seventh, respectively, to close out the win.
For the first time all series, the Golden Eagles offense struck first with four runs in the top of the third to take the lead.
Caleb Denny beat out a throw to first to score
Mac McCroskey on an RBI fielder's choice and
Jackson Loftin followed with a three-run blast to left field to make it 4-0.

A two-run double by McCroskey in the sixth followed by an RBI double from
Dustin Demeter made the final 8-4 in favor of the Golden Eagles.

-Â Demeter reached on all four plate appearances, finishing the day 3-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch.
- McCroskey joined Demeter as the only other Golden Eagle to finish with a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs.

- Loftin launched his Summit League-best fourth homer of the season and drove in a game-best three runs.
