COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Oral Roberts baseball team saw their 2022 season come to a close Saturday afternoon as they fell to No. 18 TCU, 3-1, in the College Station Regional at Blue Bell Park. ORU concluded the season with a 38-20 mark.
Isaac Coffey suffered the loss for the Golden Eagles despite pitching six strong innings, in which he struck out four and allowed only three runs. In relief,
Cade Denton tossed three perfect frames and struck out three.
After
Jake McMurray leveled the score, 1-1, by scoring on a wild pitch in the fifth, the Horned Frogs responded with back-to-back solo home runs in the sixth to claim the 3-1 advantage.
The Golden Eagles brought the go-ahead run to the plate in both the seventh and eighth innings but were unable to push across any runs as they fell 3-1.
