TULSA, Okla. – The ORU men's soccer team fell at No. 12 Tulsa Monday evening, 4-0, at Hurricane Stadium.
ORU came out striking as
Carlos Santamaria looked to put the Golden Eagles on top just minutes into the match. Santamaria had the chance with a header to the right, but just missed wide. Minutes later on the other end of the field,
Joel Quashie went to make a play on the ball with a slide tackle. Quashie was assessed a red card and the Golden Eagles were down a man just 3:10 into the match.
In the 15
th minute, Tulsa's Wes Bottenburg put the Golden Hurricane up, 1-0, off a touch from a corner kick. TU then scored again to make it 2-0, five minutes later. Alex Meinhard connected with the back of the net on a penalty kick after ORU's
Eugene Quaynor was given a yellow card in the penalty area. The following play Quaynor was given his second yellow card of the game which forced the Golden Eagles to play with nine the rest of the way. The Golden Eagles would not give up another goal for the next 37 minutes. In the 57
th minute, Tulsa made it a 3-0 match and then recorded its fourth goal in the 65
th minute.
