TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts men's tennis team earned its first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Montana State Thursday evening in Tulsa.
 
For the second-straight match Oral Roberts jumped out ahead and earned the doubles point. Gustavo Pinho and Eli Brewer won 6-2 at No. 2 followed by Ezequiel Monferrer and Ignacio Vinas with a 6-4 win at No. 1. Brewer and Pinho are now 2-0 in doubles action on the young season.
 
"The guys came to tonight's match with purpose, energy and focus," Director of Tennis Mark Milner said. "We started hot in doubles with a 6-1 win at No. 2 and carried that momentum into singles. It's great to get the first win of the season in Tulsa with a great crowd. We look forward to a tough weekend in Stillwater as we face Lamar and Oklahoma State. Go Golden Eagles!"
 
Brewer gave the Golden Eagles their second point of the dual winning the first singles point, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5. Monferrer made it 3-0 for ORU winning 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3. Montana State then picked up two points making it 3-2 by winning at No. 4 and No. 1, respectively. Vinas claimed the dual for ORU after a hard fought three-set match at the No. 2 position. He got down after set one, 4-6, but rallied to win set two, 6-3 and set three, 10-9. Ricardo Filho claimed the fifth point winning by default.
