LUBBOCK, Texas Jailen Bedford recorded a career high 26 points as the Oral Roberts men's basketball team fell by 82-76 at Texas Tech Tuesday evening in Lubbock, Texas.
 
Two Golden Eagles scored 20-plus points Tuesday evening as Jailen Bedford led all scorers with a career high 26 points. Kareem Thompson finished right behind with a season high 21. Bedford and Thompson are the second duo for ORU this season to each score 20-plus points in a game. Oral Roberts finished the game with a 45.2 percent overall shooting average making it the fourth-straight game ORU has shot over 45 percent from the field and fifth for the season. 
 
The first half saw back and forth play by the teams before Texas Tech sparked an 8-0 run to take a six point lead. The run was snapped by a Thompson who hit a three, to pull ORU back to within three with 8:40 left in first half. ORU went on an 8-2 run and hit three triples in a row, Thompson, Phipps & Bedford, respectively, made three-balls to give ORU a two point lead with five minutes to go. After Tech went back up by five, Sir Issac Herron scored his first bucket on the following possession to keep it within arms-reach. The Red Raiders took their largest lead of the half, 34-26, with 2:20 to go, on a 12-2 run, but Bedford spoiled the run with a layup and then a three on the next possession to pull back to within five. After a Red Raider bucket on the offensive end, McBride hit a three for ORU to make it a 38-34 game with 30 seconds left in the half. Defensively, Herron stuffed the Red Raiders at the rim to send ORU to halftime down four. Bedford led all scorers in the first with 14 points as the Golden Eagles shot 43 percent from the field.
 
Texas Tech opened the second half with a three to take a seven point lead. After a pair of free-throws and an and-one, Tech would have its first double-digit lead. Texas Tech would go on a 10-0 run to start the half, before ORU would score on a Thompson three. Another 8-0 run for Tech would make it a 56-37 game with 16:30 still on the clock. It would be the largest deficit for ORU in the game. Bedford hit his fifth three on the night to stop the run and send his team on an 8-0 run to bring the game back within 11 points before Texas Tech called a timeout. The Golden Eagles would extend the run to 10-0, to go down by nine with 13 minutes to play. With nine minutes to go, ORU would go to the free-throw line for the first time in the game. Bedford sank a pair of free-throws to pull his team, again, within nine. ORU would get as close as seven with under seven to go. Weaver hit a three to pull within eight with two minutes to play. After a stop, Thompson hit two free-throws to make it a 77-71 game with 90 seconds left. After trailing by 10 with 17 seconds to play, McBride hit a three to put ORU down seven. Texas Tech would then make two free-throws at the other end before Thompson closed it out with a floater for a final score of 82-76.
 
The Golden Eagles hit 28 field goals that included 16 three-pointers. ORU's defense would hold the Red Raiders to just 27 field goals including 10 threes. Texas Tech had a strong advantage by making it to the free-throw line 24 times in the game and going 18-for-24. The Golden Eagles managed to get to the charity stripe four times and made all four shots, all being in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Individual Leaders
Oral Roberts: Bedford led all scorers with 26 points for a career high. He also led his team in rebounding for the sixth-straight game grabbing six rebounds on the night.

Texas Tech: Warren Washington scored 18 points and had a double-double with 12 rebounds.
