Pair of Golden Eagles Record Consecutive Double-Doubles in #ORUWBB Win

The Basics
Score: Oral Roberts 94 – USAO 67
Record: ORU (6-3) – USAO (7-3)
Location: Mabee Center (Tulsa, Oklahoma)
TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's basketball team defeated USAO, 94-67, behind consecutive double-doubles from Jalei Oglsby and Ruthie Udoumoh Thursday night in the Mabee Center.

Taleyah Jones put together an electric performance on the court leading ORU in scoring as the sophomore recorded her fourth 20-point game of the season. Jones connected from all over the floor hitting two threes, pulling up in the mid-range, getting to the hoop, and shooting a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line.

Jalei Oglesby and Ruthie Udoumoh continue to be an impressive duo and double-double machines. Oglesby scored 17 points and grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds in the contest. Meanwhile, Udoumoh put up 12 points and 12 rebounds on 3-of-5 shooting and hitting six free throws. Both players have notched three double-doubles on the year and two in a row after reaching the mark against Oklahoma Wesleyan on Monday.

Freshman Gentry Baldwin was a spark off the bench as the guard dropped a career-high 14 points and four three pointers in less than 12 minutes of game time.

Hannah Cooper rounded out the double-figure scorers for ORU as the graduate student added 11 points and a game-high six assists.

USAO came out firing to begin the first quarter. After an Emily Robinson three to open up the scoring, the Drovers went on a 14-0 run powered by their full-court pressure and zone defense. Robinson scored a layup to end the run as the Golden Eagles found themselves in a hole at the first media timeout. Both teams traded baskets for the last few minutes as USAO ended the quarter with a fastbreak layup at the buzzer to lead 24-15 after the first quarter.

The Drovers carried their momentum into the second quarter as they couldn't be stopped on offense. A Jordan Bloomfield three at the 5:20 mark stretched USAO's lead out to 15. Jones, Oglesby, and Sara Rodrigues all stepped up and helped the Golden Eagles claw their way back into the game. Jones scored nine points in the final four minutes and ORU shrunk the Drover lead down to just three at the break.

The Golden Eagles ramped up the intensity to start the second half. ORU became the aggressors and put together a 22-0 run that spanned all the way from the 7:29 mark to the 8:53 minute mark of the fourth quarter. The Golden Eagles used a balanced offensive attack as six different players scored a basket during that run. Udoumoh led the charge with five points followed by four from Meghan Weinrich. During this run, ORU suddenly found themselves up 20 points after being down two.

In the fourth quarter, Baldwin stepped in and helped continue the momentum swing in favor of the Golden Eagles. Baldwin scored all of her career-high 14 points in the final ten minutes of play shooting 5-of-8 from the field and 4-of-7 from long distance. Baldwin's scoring outburst fueled a 30 point quarter from the Golden Eagles as they came away with the 94-67 win.
