TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team dropped game two of its series against Stephen F. Austin, 4-2, in 12 innings Saturday afternoon at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

Starter Harley Gollert struck out eight over six scoreless innings of work and allowed only one hit. In the performance, the senior set season-highs for innings pitched and strikeouts. In relief, Jacob Widener suffered the loss after allowing two runs in his lone inning on the mound.

In the second, Matt Hogan put ORU on top with a solo home run down the right-field line. The senior's homer was his team-leading fifth of the season. Later in the frame, a slow chopper off the bat of Blaze Brothers snuck past the SFA second baseman, which allowed Holden Breeze to cross the plate as the Golden Eagle lead increased to 2-0.

The Lumberjacks broke through on the scoreboard in the seventh as they scratched across a run on a sacrifice fly to trim the ORU lead to 2-1. In the ninth, SFA evened the score, 2-2, courtesy of a pinch-hit solo home run down the right-field line by Barrett Rose.

The Lumberjacks broke the tie in the 12th on a two-run single by Cole Hill as they took a 4-2 advantage.

ORU tried to respond in the bottom half of the frame as back-to-back singles from Drew Stahl and Hogan brought the winning run to the plate. The next batter, Breeze, reached on a bunt as the redshirt junior narrowly beat the throw to first but Stahl was thrown out at the plate trying to score. After a Sam Thompson walk loaded the bases, Hogan was tagged out at the plate as the senior tried to score on a wild pitch. The Golden Eagles loaded the bases once more following a Jacob Godman intentional walk but a strikeout ended the threat as SFA went on to win 4-2.
