STILLWATER, Okla. – Behind a six-run eighth inning, the Oral Roberts baseball team downed No. 14/18 Oklahoma State, 8-5, Tuesday evening from O'Brate Stadium.

ORU entered the eighth facing a 5-2 deficit but quickly flipped the script as Drew Stahl blasted a game-tying three-run homer to left. The Golden Eagles tacked on three more runs in the frame to reclaim the lead for good.

Caleb Isaacs improved to 5-0 on the season after tossing a scoreless seventh and striking out one. Closer Cade Denton collected his Summit League-leading eighth save of the season after throwing two scoreless innings. The junior has now recorded three saves in the last four contests.

After Jonah Cox extended his hitting streak to 18 games with an infield single in the fourth, Matt Hogan followed with an RBI double to put ORU in front, 1-0.

The Cowboys responded in the bottom half of the frame with a two-out two-run homer off the bat of Carson Benge to take a 2-1 advantage.

Justin Quinn evened the score at 2-2 in the fifth with an RBI single through the right side that plated Jacob Godman, who reached on an infield single.

Oklahoma State regained the lead, 5-2, in the seventh behind a two-run homer followed by an RBI single.

In the eighth, the Golden Eagles answered with six runs to reclaim the lead, 8-5, for good. Cox opened the frame with a leadoff single and moved to second following a walk from Hogan. The two came around to score a batter later as Stahl belted a three-run game-tying homer to left. For Stahl, the homer was the junior's seventh of the season.

Following a two-out walk from Jacob Godman and an infield double from Blaze Brothers, Jake McMurray put ORU back in front, 7-5, with a two-run single to left. The senior advanced to third on a Justin Quinn double and later crossed the plate on a bunt single off the bat of Cox to extend the Golden Eagles lead, 8-5.

After Denton worked around a two-out walk in the eighth, the Cowboys threatened in the ninth as they brought the tying run to the plate with two outs. The junior went on to slam the door shut as he forced a fly out from David Mendham to seal the win.
