ST. PAUL, Minn. – The No. 24 Oral Roberts baseball team picked up its sixth straight win Friday afternoon, claiming the series opener against St. Thomas, 8-3, from Koch Diamond.

Caleb Isaacs improved to 6-0 on the season after striking out two in 1.1 innings of relief. Starter Jakob Hall allowed two runs, one earned, over 6.2 innings of work and struck out four.

After Jonah Cox extended his hitting streak to 29 games with a two-out double in the first, Mac McCroskey plated the junior with an RBI single as ORU took a 1-0 lead.

The Tommies responded in the bottom half of the frame with an RBI single to even the score. Due to a throwing error by the Golden Eagles, the run was unearned.

In the second, St. Thomas took a 2-1 lead on a solo home run to right-center.

ORU tied the game, 2-2, in the fifth on an RBI groundout from Justin Quinn that scored Blaze Brothers, who reached on a one-out double.

The Golden Eagles reclaimed the lead, 3-2, in the eighth as Quinn, who led off the frame with a single, crossed the plate on a McCroskey RBI groundout.

Following a Holden Breeze single, Drew Stahl provided insurance for ORU as the junior blasted a two-run homer to left-center. The long ball marked the ninth of the season for Stahl and second in as many games.

In the ninth, three consecutive walks with the bases loaded led to three runs for the Golden Eagles as their advantage grew to 8-2.
