TULSA, Okla. - A slow start proved to be too much for Oral Roberts on Saturday as the Golden Eagles fell to league-leading North Dakota 78-65 inside the Mabee Center.
 
The Fighting Hawks took the lead 30 seconds into the game and didn't look back, shooting 56% from the field and 4-9 from three in the first half. A 15-point halftime lead grew to 19 at one point for UND, but the Golden Eagles fought back.
 
ORU's defense vastly improved in the second half, holding UND to just 33% FG and 0-11 from 3-pt range. ORU cut the deficit to as little as five points with just under ten minutes remaining, but the Golden Eagles couldn't get over the hump. While Oral Roberts held UND without a three-pointer in the second half, the Golden Eagles shot just 22% from beyond the arc in the game and 36% from the field overall. UND also outrebounded ORU 46-30 and shot 37 free throws in the contest.
 
ORU was led by Isaac McBride who scored a game-high 23 points on 9-19 FG shooting. McBride also added three assists and two steals. Kareem Thompson also notched his third double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and pulling in a team-high 10 rebounds in the loss. North Dakota's leading scorer was B.J. Omot who tallied 20 points. Treysen Eaglestaff followed with 17 points and Amar Kuljuhovic chipped in a game-high 13 rebounds and three assists.
