TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team came up just short of completing a 10-run comeback, falling to Missouri State in a standalone game at home.

The Bears would bring the fight to the Golden Eagles immediately after the first-pitch as they would tack on five runs in the opening two innings. ORU would once again have to turn to their bullpen early in the game.

Missouri State's lineup would continue to build upon their lead adding five more runs in the fourth and fifth frames. 

With the game seemingly out of reach 10-0 heading into the bottom of seventh, Elijah Rodriguez would prevent a shutout , driving an RBI single to left field. 

Then with the inning seemingly over an error by Missouri State's shortstop would give ORU new life. Drew Stahl would keep the momentum going with a scoring Rodgers on a fielder's choice. Then Kyle Booker and David Herring would work a couple of walks to bring in two more runs.

Sam Thompson capped off the outburst with a perfectly-hit ball over the MSU's second baseman to score Booker and Stahl while cutting the deficit to just four runs.

In the top of the eight, Conner Floyd was called from the bullpen to keep the Golden Eagles within reach.The righty from Bentonville would do exactly just that as he would collect four punchouts in just two innings of work.

ORU would get MSU's Garrett Ferguson in a jam with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth but the Bears would manage to force a pop-fly and escape with the 10-6 win.
