TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team fell short in a standalone matchup against Wichita State on Wednesday afternoon.

The game would feature a battle of the bullpens as both teams used a combined total of 13 different pitchers.

Wichita State would put the Golden Eagles in an early deficit as they would plate across two runs in the second inning.

ORU would struggle to get their offense going, as they were unable to register a hit until a Kyle Booker single in the fifth inning.

The Shockers later capitalized on a passed ball in the sixth putting the Golden Eagles down three runs with only one hit late into the game.

Despite the tough day at the plate, ORU would not go quietly into the night. In the eighth David Herring would drive in a run off a sacrifice-fly and Conner Floyd would deliver another scoreless appearance to give the home team one more shot in the ninth.

Booker, Cole Dudding, and Easton Elliot were able to keep the Golden Eagles alive, loading the bases with only one out. However, Wichita State was able to get out of the jam unscathed winning the game 3-1.

Holden Breeze would give his starter some insurance in the third as he forced a fielder's choice that would score Alex Rodgers.
