Tulsa, Okla.– The Oral Roberts baseball team continued Summit League play on Saturday afternoon against South Dakota State.
The Golden Eagles wasted no time making their presence known, jumping out to an early lead in the first inning thanks to a clutch RBI single from David Herring. ORU's offense came out firing, putting pressure on the Jackrabbits' pitching from the get-go.
However, South Dakota State quickly turned the tide, mounting a comeback in the third inning to snatch the lead away from Oral Roberts. The Jackrabbits' offense clicked into gear, capitalizing on scoring opportunities and showcasing their offensive firepower.
The Golden Eagles fought valiantly to stay in the game, and they managed to tie the score in the fourth inning courtesy of Kole Dudding's first career RBI, injecting new energy into ORU's lineup and keeping the game within reach.
Despite Oral Roberts' efforts, South Dakota State's relentless offense proved too much to handle as the Jackrabbits surged ahead, scoring six unanswered runs to build a commanding lead. ORU battled hard but ultimately couldn't close the gap, falling short in their bid for a comeback.
In a game filled with momentum swings and standout performances, South Dakota State emerged victorious with a final score of 12-7.
