GREELEY, Colo.– The Oral Roberts baseball team made a statement in their series opening win over the Bears of Northern Colorado. After scoring no more than one run in four of their last five games, the Golden Eagles would put on a hitting clinic, driving in 16 runs off of seventeen hits.

Alex Rodgers got the Golden Eagles on the board in the opening frame, scoring off an error to second base. Drew Stahl later would drive in a run via sacrifice fly to give ORU an early two-run cushion.
The offense kept their foot on the gas pedal in the second as David Herring kicked off a monster day at the plate with an RBI single down the left field side. Then an RBI groundout by Stahl built the lead to 4-0.

UNC finally offered a rebuttal with a solo home run in the third but ORU responded with seven unanswered runs across two innings featuring homers from Stahl, Herring, Holden Breeze, and Sam Thompson.

The Bears avoided the 10-Run Rule with a two run seventh inning to cut the lead to eight however the Golden Eagles manufactured their biggest lead of the day in the ensuing inning of play.

Rodgers once again got on base, this time with a well placed hit between the shortstop and left fielder and Elijah Rodriguez quickly scored both of them off a triple that turned into a little league home run.
Stahl and Cameron LaLiberte tacked on three more runs to build an insurmountable 13-run lead that sent the home crowd early after the eighth inning.

Jakob Hall continued his dominance on the mound as he fanned eight batters in 6.2 innings of work. In 30 innings pitched in Summit League play the junior now boasts a 3.00 ERA, 32 strikeouts, and held opponents below the Mendoza Line (.190).
