TULSA, Okla. – The ORU men's soccer team would have a home debut to remember as they picked up their first win of the 2024 campaign in front of a crowd of 2086 supporters against Cal Poly.

In a physical matchup that saw 12 fouls and two yellow cards in the first half, Jose Estrada would make the Mustangs pay for their lack of discipline in the final third. The senior drew a penalty with five minutes before the break and Omar Mora would give the Golden Eagles the lead burying the kick to the left of the keeper.

Coming out the break, the Mustangs remained vigilant on finding an equalizer taking 22 shots and putting 11 on goal. However Joao Mesquita in just his second career start, would turn those 11 shots into 11 saves and a clean sheet as the Golden Eagles would go into the night with a hard fought 1-0 win.
