LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Oral Roberts men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2024 campaign Saturday morning at the Bob Timmons XC Classic at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kansas.
 
News and Notes
- In his Golden Eagle XC debut, Summit League Preseason Athlete to Watch, Abraham Chelangam, would take the win in the and set a new course record of 17:45.
- Ossly Murambidzi, another Summit League Preseason Athlete to Watch, finished sixth in women's 5k with a time of 18:46.
- Zoie Kidy rounded out the top-10 finishers on the women's side after placing eighth with a time of 18:51.
- Andrew Smithwick finished in the top-10 for the second time in his ORU career, crossing the line in ninth with a time 19:13.
- As a team, the men placed second for the second year in a row, finishing two points ahead of Power 4 foe Kansas State and 58 points ahead of Kansas City.
- On the women's side, the Golden Eagles placed third for the second year in a row finishing 64 points ahead of Summit League foe, Kansas City.
