STILLWATER, Okla. – Abraham Chelangam and Zoie Kiddy led the Oral Roberts Men's Cross Country team to a historic showing at the Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday. Chelangam finished in 8th place with a stellar time of 23:52, marking the fastest ORU time on this course in at least 16 years. Meanwhile, Kiddy crossed the line in 39th place, helping propel the Golden Eagles to a 6th-place team finish, their best performance at the Cowboy Jamboree since 2016.

Chelangam's standout run continues his stellar form this season, as he paced the field with authority, while Kiddy's contribution added valuable depth to the squad's overall success. The Golden Eagles' strong finish highlights their promising campaign as they push forward in the 2024 season.

- Chelangam is the second ORU runner to dip under the 24-minute barrier since Jonah Lagat's 23:53 record breaking performance at the 2008 Summit League Cross Country Championship  . 
- Chelangam is finished in the top-ten that featured runners from #1 Oklahoma, #8 New Mexico, and #24 Texas.
-  The ORU men's scoring five averaged 25:38 on the 8k course
- The ORU women's scoring five averaged 23:13 on the 6k course.
