FARGO, N.D. – The ORU volleyball program fell to the North Dakota State Bison in five sets on the road to open their trip to North Dakota.
The Golden Eagles earned a set-one victory, powered by a .313 hitting percentage with 15 kills. The Golden Eagles rallied from down eight at 16-8 to grab the set. In set two, ORU trailed by as many as 10 points as North Dakota State grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that was knotted up three times before the Bison took the lead. ORU took a 2-1 lead with third-set win, leading from the first point on in the set to secure a 25-21 victory. In set four, the Golden Eagles couldn't finish off the match, as the Bison forced a fifth set with a neck-and-neck 26-24 victory that featured two lead changes and 11 ties. In set five, the Golden Eagles fell behind by as many as 10 points before dropping the fifth set.
