OMAHA, NEB. – Abraham Chelangam grabbed his second first-place finish of the season, outlasting the No. 2 cross country program in the country on Friday morning.

Abraham Chelangam led the way for the Golden Eagles in the men's 8k race, placing second with a time of 23:22.78, and
Andrew Smithwick on his heels with an 8
th place finish running a 24:07.38. The men finished 4
th as a program in Omaha, beating out St. Thomas, South Dakota, and Kansas City.
In the women's 6k race, it was
Madeline Cabana placing 13
th to lead all Golden Eagles, running a 21:08.15.
Ossly Murambidzi came in 27
th with a time of 21:37.74 as the women placed sixth out of eight squads, outlasting Kansas City and Omaha.
The Golden Eagles will head back to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to compete in regionals hosted by Oklahoma State on Nov. 14
th. In each region, the top two finishers will be selected for a chance to compete for a national championship. The final field will be revealed on Sunday, Nov. 15
th at 5 PM EST.
