LINCOLN, Nebraska – Redshirt-senior Jalei Oglesby and sophomore Anna Trusty posted double-figure scoring efforts as the Oral Roberts women's basketball team fell to Nebraska, 103-58, on Wednesday evening.
Oglesby ended the night shooting 7-of-14 from the floor, leading ORU with 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Trusty followed closely with 13 points, including two makes from beyond the arc.
After falling behind 29-7 in the first quarter, the Golden Eagles responded by outshooting Nebraska in the second, recording a 46.7 percent field-goal mark. Oglesby led ORU at the half with eight points.
Nebraska extended its lead after the break, building a 76-29 advantage before Oral Roberts put together a 5-0 run– capped by a Gentry Baldwin basket– to cut the deficit to 76-34 with 2:55 remaining in the third. Nebraska countered and stretched its lead to 80-36 heading into the fourth, where ORU knocked down two three-pointers for six of its 13 points in the frame.
The Huskers continued to push in the fourth, reaching an 82-36 lead before the Golden Eagles answered with a 6-0 run, finished off by a Trusty layup, to make it 82-42 with 7:36 left. Nebraska responded once again and outscored ORU the rest of the way to secure the 103-58 final. ORU connected on three three-pointers in the quarter, accounting for nine of its 22 points.
The Leaders
Oral Roberts: Jalei Oglesby led ORU with 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals on 7-of-14 shooting.
Nebraska: Britt Prince paced the Huskers with 30 points on 13-of-18 shooting.
