KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Golden Eagle volleyball program took down the Kansas City Roos in four sets on the road, securing its 1,000
th victory as a program.
The Golden Eagles grabbed control on the first point and never looked back to win the first set 25-16. ORU led by as many as nine points at 22-13 before finishing off the set. Oral Roberts also got their offense going with three aces. The Golden Eagles quickly grabbed a 2-0 lead, taking control of the set lead early on at 5-4. ORU led by as many as five points at 14-9 before closing out set two. Despite a third-set loss, the Golden Eagles responded to end the match with a 25-20 fourth-set win. ORU grabbed control of the set at 3-2, leading by 12 points at 17-5 before finishing off the stanza. The Golden Eagles put together a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four UMKC attacks in the final set.
