#ORUWBB Secures Season Sweep Over Omaha on the Road

OMAHA, Neb. – The Golden Eagles dominated the Omaha Mavericks on the road, securing a 105-74 victory. The win marked the first time ORU scored 100+ points against a conference opponent since 2/17/24.
 
Taleyah Jones recorded ORU's first 30-point game of the season, logging her own season-high of 30 points in the process. Jones also grabbed five rebounds on the night. Jalei Oglesby scored 25 points in the matchup, shooting an efficient 12-15 (80%) from the field to go along with six boards. Ruthie Udoumoh, Makyra Tramble and Mary Carden each scored 10 points while Udoumoh and Carden grabbed nine and eight rebounds, respectively.
 
Ruthie Udoumoh and Taleyah Jones kicked things off on the right foot for ORU, knocking down two layups. The Mavericks took the lead with 6:38 left in the first (8-9) before the Golden Eagles sparked a 10-2 run to push their lead to seven (18-11). Makyra Tramble and Jalei Oglesby each traded baskets with 17 seconds left in the first as ORU held an 11-point lead (26-15) heading into quarter number two.

Taleyah Jones and Jalei Oglesby scored 14 of ORU's first 16 points in the quarter before Emily Robinson made a layup with 3:21 to play in the half. Oglesby and Tramble closed out the second knocking down a pair of jump shots. A ten-point quarter from Oglesby helped the Golden Eagles extend their lead to 19 (50-31) heading into the break.
 
The third quarter didn't go ORU's way as the Golden Eagles were outscored 18-22 in the frame. Ten of the Golden Eagles' 18 points in the quarter came from Taleyah Jones. Despite outrebounding the Mavericks 12-7, ORU couldn't get the ball in the basket, shooting 47.1% to UNO's 50.0%.
 
The Golden Eagles scored their second-most points in the quarter this season in the fourth, racking up 37 to the Mavericks 21. A 7-0 run kicked off the fourth for ORU before Annyka Hellendrung made a layup with 2:10 to go in the quarter. Azailah Funches and Alayna Kraus each made jumpers to seal the game for the Golden Eagles, picking up their 19th win of the season and ninth of conference play.
