VERMILLION, S.D. – The Golden Eagles dominated the South Dakota Coyotes to earn their eighth win of Summit League play, moving to 18-5 on the season and 8-2 in conference play. After picking up their first season sweep over USD last year, ORU has swept the Coyotes in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.

Jalei Oglesby had another efficient shooting performance tonight, scoring 23 points on 11-17 shooting.
Makyra Tramble followed Oglesby with 18 points on 7-12 shooting, knocking down four threes (4-6) in the process. Tramble also led the Golden Eagles in steals, with three.
Taleyah Jones and
Meghan Weinrich each eclipsed double figures on the night, scoring 12 and 10 points, respectively. Weinrich had a stellar all-around performance logging team-highs in rebounds (8) and assists (5).

The Coyotes sparked a 5-0 run to open the game before
Ruthie Udoumoh and
Makyra Tramble answered with a 5-0 run of their own.
Jalei Oglesby scored ORU's last seven points as the Golden Eagles went on a 7-0 run to close the first. Seven missed three-pointers from South Dakota (3-10) led to 14 Golden Eagle rebounds and a 21-15 first quarter lead.
Two jumpers from
Taleyah Jones and Oglesby extended ORU's lead to six (25-19) before a
Gentry Baldwin triple answered a layup from the Coyotes to extend the lead to seven (7:19). Four ORU layups over a 2:17 span gave the Golden Eagles a 12-point lead off a 4-0 run. A more evenly matched second quarter (23-19) left the Golden Eagles up 10 (44-34) heading into the half.

Domination ensued in the third as ORU outscored USD 30-10 to blow this one open. A 12-19 shooting performance combined with a 10-5 rebounding advantage, helped ORU catch fire.
Makyra Tramble made three of the Golden Eagles' four shots to open the quarter, all of which were threes.
Taleyah Jones and
Meghan Weinrich combined for 10 points in the final 5:44 of the quarter, knocking down heavily contested layups and jump shots to give the Golden Eagles a 30-point lead at the break.

Meghan Weinrich led the Golden Eagles to the finish line, tallying six of ORU's 14 points in the fourth. An 0-6 performance from beyond the arc from ORU helped the Coyotes win the final quarter (14-18) but it wasn't enough to overcome the once 30-point lead as the Golden Eagles look ahead to South Dakota State on Saturday.
