TULSA, Okla. – The Golden Eagles opened Summit League play against the first-place Denver Pioneers, falling 3-0 at the Mabee Center.
 
The Golden Eagles fell in a back-and-forth first set, losing 25-23 in a set that featured nine lead changes and was tied 16 times. ORU trailed by as many as nine points as Denver grabbed the advantage for good at 11-10 in a set that was tied up seven times before the Pioneers took the second set for good, 25-16. In set three, Denver grabbed the advantage at 6-5 in a set that featured seven ties before the Golden Eagles came up short 25-22, dropping their Summit League opener 3-0.

• Jenna Salyer recorded a new career-high with seven blocks.
• Hope Hickman had a team-high nine kills for ORU
• The Golden Eagles got a match-high 11 digs from Julia Carr, her fifth straight game with 10+ digs.
• ORU attackers were helped by a team-high 15 assists from Rachel Resta.
