#ORUMBB Drops Summit League Opener to Fighting Hawks Despite Strong Second Half

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Golden Eagles couldn't overcome a slow start to the first-half, falling to the North Dakota Fighting Hawks to begin Summit League play despite Yuto Yamanouchi-Williams' career-high 20 points.
 
The Golden Eagles had two players finish in double figures, led by Yamanouchi-Williams, who had 20 points and four blocks while Connor Dow tacked on 16 points, four assists and four steals. Ofri Naveh added six points, seven rebounds and two steals.
 
ORU made just eight field goals in the first half, falling behind 37-20 heading into the break. Coming out of the half, the Golden Eagles narrowed their deficit to 53-37 before going on a 13-0 run, finished off by Naveh's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 53-50 with 6:45 to go in the contest. North Dakota seemed to respond each time ORU gained momentum and continued to extend its lead the rest of the way, handing ORU its first Summit League loss of the season.
