Austin Nicholson recorded his first collegiate RBI as the Oral Roberts baseball team fell 13-1 at Missouri State Tuesday afternoon.
Nicholson, the only true freshman on ORU's roster, had the first scoring hit of the game, putting an RBI-single up the middle in the top of the second.
The Bears responded, taking an 11-run advantage in the bottom of the inning, scoring on three homers, two doubles, two singles, and an RBI walk. Missouri State added the final run of the seven-inning game in the fifth, scoring on an RBI ground out.
Golden Eagles starting pitcher
Luke Williams (0-1) was charged with the loss after throwing 1.1 innings, allowing six runs on four hits while striking out two batters.
