SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Freshman infielder Austin Nicholson recorded his first collegiate RBI as the Oral Roberts baseball team fell 13-1 at Missouri State Tuesday afternoon.
 
Nicholson, the only true freshman on ORU's roster, had the first scoring hit of the game, putting an RBI-single up the middle in the top of the second.
 
The Bears responded, taking an 11-run advantage in the bottom of the inning, scoring on three homers, two doubles, two singles, and an RBI walk.  Missouri State added the final run of the seven-inning game in the fifth, scoring on an RBI ground out.
 
Golden Eagles starting pitcher Luke Williams (0-1) was charged with the loss after throwing 1.1 innings, allowing six runs on four hits while striking out two batters.
 
Up Next
The Golden Eagles will remain on the road, traveling to Dallas to take on Dallas Baptist Thursday and Saturday, and Air Force Friday.
