TULSA, Oklahoma – The Oral Roberts baseball team fell 11-1 in its first game at Little Rock Tuesday afternoon. The lone run came on a solo home run from senior
Cooper Combs in the second inning.
In addition to Combs's homer, two other Golden Eagles recorded hits.
Hudson Ellis singled through the left side in the third, and
Wailele Kane-Yates singled into left in the sixth.
ORU was first on the board as Combs sent a home run over the left-field wall in the second.
The Trojans took control with four runs in the bottom of the fifth, scoring on a home run, a single, and a two-RBI double. Little Rock ended the game early with a seven-run eighth inning, scoring on a double, an RBI walk, a single, a wild pitch, and a walk-off two-RBI single.
Senior
Maddox Thornton (0-1) came out of the bullpen for Oral Roberts and took the loss. Sophomore Brendan Asher was a bright spot for the Golden Eagles, starting the ballgame and throwing two shutout innings. He allowed two hits with no walks and struck out three.
Trojan reliever Isaac Evaniew earned the win after tossing 1.1 innings, allowing one hit and no runs.
