TULSA, Oklahoma – The Oral Roberts baseball team is set to continue Summit League play at home, taking on St. Thomas for a three-game series beginning Friday, March 20 at 6 p.m.

Last Time Out:
The Golden Eagles are coming off two midweek games at Arkansas Little Rock, going 1-1. Oral Roberts fell 11-1 in game one on Tuesday before defeating the Trojans 11-1 in seven innings on Wednesday.
 
Tuesday's lone Golden Eagle run came on a solo home run from senior Cooper Combs in the second inning. Senior Maddox Thornton (0-1) came out of the bullpen for Oral Roberts and took the loss.
 
Seniors Makani Tanaka and Martell Davis each collected two extra-base hits to power the Golden Eagles to an 11-1, seven-inning run-rule win over Arkansas Little Rock on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Leadoff hitter Tanaka led the way with three hits, driving in three runs while scoring twice. His two extra-base hits included a double and a triple, while Davis went 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and a walk. Wailele Kane-Yates also contributed a double.
 
Junior Braydon Sanford (2-0) earned the win out of the bullpen for Oral Roberts. The right-hander entered in the third inning and threw 2.1 shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking two and striking out three.
 
Inside the Series:
With St. Thomas joining the Summit League ahead of the 2022 season, the Golden Eagles hold an 11-10 edge in the all-time series. The two last met in Tulsa in 2025, splitting a four-game series, 2-2.
 
Scouting the Opponent:
St. Thomas enters the series 4-15 overall and 1-1 in Summit League play.
 
The Tommies most recently faced Air Force on Monday, falling 20-12 in eight innings.
 
UST opened league play last weekend against Northern Colorado, taking game two against the Bears, 8-5, before falling 9-4. The first game of the series was canceled due to weather.
 
As a team, the Tommies are hitting .260 with 168 hits on the season. They lead the league in doubles (38), sacrifice flies (9), scoring (5.1 runs per game), and stolen bases.
 
Tanner Recchio leads the team with a .342 average, tallying 25 hits on the season. The junior infielder ranks 30th nationally and leads the league with 13 stolen bases, is 10th in the nation in sacrifice bunts, and ranks second in the league as one of the toughest to strike out (10.4 at-bats per strikeout). Adam Puder leads the team and ranks second in the Summit League in doubles (8).
 
On the mound, UST has a 7.31 team ERA, allowing 10.58 hits per nine innings. Projected Friday starter Brayden Olson leads the team with a 3.76 ERA, making five starts and throwing 26.1 innings. The right-hander has struck out 26 batters while allowing 18 runs (11 earned) on 25 hits. Owen Marsolek, projected to start Saturday, closely follows with a 4.28 ERA and 24 strikeouts.
 
Head coach Chris Olean holds a 418-271-1 career record, all in 17 seasons with the Tommies.
