TULSA, Oklahoma – The Oral Roberts baseball team secured the series win over St. Thomas with an 8-2 victory in game two on Saturday afternoon.

Jackson Farrell (2-0) earned the win out of the bullpen for ORU. The left-hander tossed three shutout innings, allowing four hits, no walks, and striking out six. Nathan Love started the ballgame and went five innings, surrendering two earned runs on four hits with no walks and two strikeouts.

The Golden Eagles got the scoring started early as Wailele Kane-Yates launched a two-out solo homer 395 feet over the left-field wall, marking the senior's first home run of the season.

The game remained scoreless through the second and third, but ORU added another run in the fourth when Martell Davis doubled to left field to drive in Kane-Yates. Kane-Yates had reached on a single, advanced to second on a Will Edmunson single, and moved to third on a Cooper Kelly sacrifice bunt.

The Tommies tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth with a pair of home runs, but the Golden Eagles regained the lead in the sixth on an RBI walk.

ORU pulled away with five runs in the eighth, beginning with a 379-foot three-run homer from Tyler Brodrick– his first of the season– scoring Kole Dudding, who reached on a walk, and Davis, who singled to center.

The Golden Eagles kept it going as Matthew Mainord drew a walk and Hudson Ellis was hit by a pitch. Makani Tanaka singled to move Ellis to third and score Mainord. Cooper Combs capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing in Ellis.

UST starter Owen Marsolek was charged with the loss, allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and nine strikeouts.
