TULSA, Oklahoma – The Oral Roberts baseball team defeated North Dakota State, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon thanks to a go-ahead home run by
Ethan Fender in the eighth inning.
NDSU struck first, hitting a solo home run over the left field line in the fifth inning.
The Golden Eagles responded in the sixth with a two-run double by
Cooper Combs, scoring
Martell Davis and
Cooper Kelly, who both reached on singles.
The Bison tied the game, 2-2, with a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. ORU quickly regained the advantage in the bottom half of the inning as Fender launched a go-ahead home run 365 feet over the left field line.
Oral Roberts starter
Nathan Love threw 6.0 innings, allowing one run while striking out three.
Kash Ferris (2-2) pitched the final 2.0 innings to earn the win, allowing one run and striking out three.
NDSU reliever Braden Gluth (0-1) was charged with the loss after allowing one run on two hits in 1.2 innings of work.
