AUSTIN, TEX. – Competing against one of the nation's premier meets, the Oral Roberts University track and field team turned in several strong performances at the 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, highlighted by top-eight finishes in both the jumps and high jump competitions.
Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was junior
Woedem Vasmark-Voegborlo, who placed sixth in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.98 meters. Competing in a deep field that included athletes from programs such as Ohio State, Texas, and North Texas, Vasmark-Voegborlo remained competitive throughout the competition and secured a top-six finish for Oral Roberts on one of the sport's biggest stages.
In the men's high jump, sophomore
Jordan Wenger delivered another strong performance, clearing 2.10 meters to finish tied for sixth overall. Wenger's clearance placed him alongside athletes from Houston and Clemson while finishing just behind competitors from Texas Tech and Texas, continuing his consistent success during the outdoor season.
On the women's side,
Destiny Downing represented Oral Roberts in the high jump and recorded a clearance of 1.64 meters, finishing seventh overall. Downing competed in a competitive field featuring athletes from Texas, Northern Illinois, and Nicholls State, earning a top-10 finish for the Golden Eagles.
With multiple top-eight finishes and solid marks across the board, Oral Roberts showed continued progress against elite competition at the Texas Relays. The performances from Vasmark-Voegborlo, Wenger, and Downing highlight the Golden Eagles' strength in the jumps while providing momentum as the outdoor season continues.
Oral Roberts will now look to build on these results as the Golden Eagles return to competition in the coming weeks, continuing to chase qualifying marks and conference-leading performances heading deeper into the outdoor season.
