TULSA, Oklahoma – The Oral Roberts baseball team celebrated the careers of 14 Golden Eagle seniors ahead of the series finale against Omaha Sunday, May 10.
ORU fell 8-6 to Omaha as starter
Nathan Love (2-2) was charged with the loss. The righthander threw 2.1 innings, allowing six runs while striking out two batters.
Keaton Ruthardt entered in relief, tossing 2.1 innings and striking out four batters.
Omaha opened the scoring in the second with an RBI double, but the Golden Eagles were quick to respond as
Keaton Campbell hit a homer 400 feet over the left-field wall, scoring himself and
Cooper Kelly, who had drawn a walk.
The Mavericks regained the advantage in the following frame, putting up five runs. Omaha scored on a two-RBI double, a two-run homer, and an RBI groundout.
ORU responded with a sacrifice fly by Kelly in the bottom of the inning, scoring
Wailele Kane-Yates, who was hit by a pitch before advancing on a
Cooper Combs single and a passed ball.
The Golden Eagles put two runners in scoring position in the fourth as
Hudson Ellis drew a walk and moved to third on a single by
Makani Tanaka before scoring on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to two runs.
The Mavericks hit their second home run of the day in the fifth to make it 7-4, but the Golden Eagles made it a one-run game by plating two in the bottom of the frame. Combs opened the inning with a single to left before moving to third on a sacrifice bunt by Davis and a single from Kelly.
Ethan Fender hit a single into left to drive in Combs before Campbell drew a walk to load the bases. Kelly later scored on an Ellis single to make it 7-6.
Omaha added its final run in the sixth with a solo shot to left.
Drew Iverson (1-1) entered in relief for the Mavericks and earned the win after 2.0 innings of work, allowing one run while striking out three batters. Tanner Hosick (S, 1) recorded his first save of the season, throwing the final two innings without allowing a run or hit while striking out two.

Oral Roberts will close its home slate with a midweek game against Oklahoma State on Tuesday, May 12 at 6 p.m. before traveling to Northern Colorado for the final Summit League series of 2026.
