TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball program and Head Coach Kory Barnett have announced the addition of freshman forward Alberto Blanco to the 2026-27 roster.

"I'm excited to add Alberto to our ORU family. He's going to bring a lot of versatility, edge, passion, and feel for the game," said Coach Barnett. "The way he pushes his teammates and his unselfish approach to everything he does is something our fans are really going to appreciate. His ability to shoot it, put it on the deck, and create for others at his size will make him fun to watch and even more fun to play with."

From Sevilla, Spain, Blanco is a skilled 6-9 forward with a 6-11 wingspan. Blanco has gained experience on Spain's youth national teams, including the U17 World Cup and U20 EuroBasket competition. In 2023, Blanco led the FIBA U16 Spain National Team to a European Championship, grabbing a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game. He played in 28 FIBA contests from 2022-25, averaging 5.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Blanco also played for the Charlotte Hornets in BWB Europe club competition in 2024.

Blanco attended the Academy of Central Florida, one of the country's elite multi-sport preparatory programs. They have developed more than 30 players who have played in the NBA.

He is the son of Jose and Maria Miguel and has a younger sister named Paula.
