MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Two Golden Eagles homered as the Oral Roberts baseball team fell to South Dakota State, 7-3, in game one of the Summit League Championship Tournament.
The Golden Eagles opened the scoring in the second inning with a
Martell Davis solo shot to left field.
South Dakota State got on the board with two runs in the fourth, first scoring on a solo home run and later on a bunt single. The Jackrabbits added four runs in the sixth, scoring twice on singles and once on a sacrifice fly. SDSU added its final run on an RBI groundout in the eighth.
Oral Roberts capped the scoring on the afternoon with a two-run homer to right field from
Makani Tanaka, driving in
Hudson Ellis, who had reached on a double.
ORU starter
Easton Teel (4-3) was charged with the loss after allowing three runs on six hits over 5.0 innings.
Sam Schlecht (4-3) earned the win for SDSU, throwing 7.1 innings while allowing three runs on six hits with eight strikeouts.
