MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Oral Roberts baseball will move on to the Summit League Tournament Championship after a 3-1 win over Northern Colorado 3-1 Friday afternoon.
The first three innings went scoreless before the Golden Eagles opened the day with three runs in the fourth. ORU loaded the bases as Wailele Kane-Yates drew a walk, followed by a Cooper Combs single and a Martell Davis walk.
Kane-Yates was driven in on a Cooper Kelly groundout, making it 1-0. Ethan Fender followed with a single into left field to clear the bases and give ORU a 3-0 advantage.
Northern Colorado scored its only run of the day in the bottom of the frame, loading the bases before hitting an RBI single to center.
Nathan Love (4-2) earned the win after his longest start of the year, 7.0 innings of work, allowing just one run while striking out five batters. Maddox Thornton entered in the eighth, earning the save after 2.0 shutout innings allowing just one run while striking out two.
Starter Ethan Louthan (0-3) was charged with the loss for UNC after allowing three runs on four hits in 3.2 innings of work.
