TULSA, Okla. – The Golden Eagles Volleyball met with Tulsa for the beginning of Mayor's Cup week for Oral Roberts.
ORU Volleyball opened the match with a competitive first set, featuring 11 ties and four lead changes. Ciara Cunningham led the Golden Eagles and all players with five kills while adding two digs, but ORU fell short in the set, 25-16.
The Golden Eagles continued to battle in the second set, making their presence felt at the net with two team blocks and a solo block from Khylie Remmenga. Despite the defensive effort, ORU dropped the set, 25-15.
The Golden Eagles continued to fight in the third set, recording 20 digs and four block assists. ORU's defensive effort kept the team competitive throughout the set, but the Golden Eagles ultimately fell in the final frame to close the match in three sets.
NEXT UP: Oral Roberts will face Abilene Christian on Friday, September 11 at 7 PM in the Mabee Center.
