Cape Girardeau, Mo.
-- Goalkeepers Amanda Wrzos and Lauren Fabbro combined for the
shutout in leading Southeast Missouri to a 3-0 shutout of the Oral
Roberts University women's soccer team Sunday afternoon at Cape,
Girardeau, Mo.
The Otahkians (6-2) got goals from Erika Todd and Jennifer Unrein
in the first half, taking a 2-0 advantage into the locker room at
halftime. The second half proved to be more of the same, as ORU
(2-5) was again held scoreless and Southeast Missouri's Megan
Hejlek put the game out of reach with a goal in the 62nd
minute.
The Golden Eagles refused to go away quietly, as they out-shot the
Otahkians 10-6 in the second half and 16-14 for the game. However,
the goalkeeping tandem of Wrzos and Fabbro proved too strong,
combining for 11 saves with seven coming in the game's final
half.
The ORU women's soccer team will return home next weekend,
welcoming Southwest Missouri State for a Friday night showdown at
the ORU Soccer Complex. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
