-- Oral Roberts University women's soccer was defeated by
Louisiana-Lafayette 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at the ORU Soccer
Complex.
The Ragin' Cajuns were led by Stacy Smith who scored two goals.
Smith scored in the 28th minute to give Louisiana-Lafayette a 1-0
advantage at intermission.
ORU's Jodi Kirkhuff tied the game at 1-1 in the 61st minute, but
Smith answered with the game winning goal in the 64th minute.
Louisiana-Lafayette (1-2-1) goalkeeper Liza Preseault had seven
saves allowing one goal.
ORU (1-3) had 21 shots with eight shots on goal while
Louisiana-Lafayette had just nine shots with three shots on
goal.
ORU's next game is at Western Illinois on September 16.
