INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-Nate Ohmer scored a pair of goals, including the
game winner in over time, as IUPUI rallied for a 2-1 win over Oral
Roberts in a Summit League match on Saturday at Kuntz Stadium.
After a scoreless first half the Golden Eagles (6-6-2 overall,
2-2-1 Summit) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute when Sterling
Copeland scored his third goal of the season off an assist by Jim
Reinsma.
The Golden Eagles maintained the lead until the closing minutes of
the second half. Ohmer scored at 85:19 off a corner kick as the
Jaguars (2-10-3, 1-2-1) forced overtime.
In the extra period Ohmer scored off a throw-in in the 96th minute,
beating ORU keeper
Irving Peralta from inside six yards. The shot
was IUPUI's only attempt in overtime, while ORU managed four
shots.
ORU owned the overall edge in shots, 23-18. Jaguars goal keeper
Tyler Keever made six saves. Peralta, who replaced starter Andrew
Techanchuk in the 68th minute, stopped five shots for the Golden
Eagles.
The Golden Eagles return to action in a non-conference game against
Wisconsin-Green Bay, 12 noon on Sunday.
