TULSA, Okla.-- The Oklahoma City Stars
will host the Oral Roberts University men's and women's soccer
teams for a preseason doubleheader on August 12 starting with the
women at 5 p.m. and the men following at 7 p.m. The match location
was previously scheduled to take place at ORU's new Case Soccer
Complex, but due to ongoing construction the matches were relocated
to Oklahoma City University.
The Oklahoma City Stars men's team had
a solid 2010 season, finishing 11-6-2 and advanced to the Sooner
Athletic Conference Championship game. They fielded four NAIA
All-Americans in 2010.
The Golden Eagles men's team is coming
off a surprise run in the conference tournament after finishing
5-8-6 in the regular season, losing to Oakland in the Summit League
Championship match; barely missing a berth in the NCAA tournament.
This year's team has a new look with 13 newcomers, but the Golden
Eagles are returning Jarrett Hamilton, the leading scorer from
2010.
