Billbury's career high 34 points, the Oral Roberts men's
basketball team raced past Omaha Wednesday night at the Mabee
Center. With the 102-86 victory, the Golden Eagles won their third
straight game and moved to 9-8 (3-1 SL) and into a tie for first
place in the Summit League.
In addition to Billbury's 34, Obi
Emegano added 23 marking the second time this year in which ORU
has had a 30-point and 20-point performance in the same game.
Billbury also led ORU with seven rebounds and five assists. ORU
topped the century mark for the first time since a 102-81 victory
over UMKC February 10, 2011.
UNO (7-10, 1-4 SL) got 19 points from CJ Carter, while Mike
Rostampour added 12 points and Marcus Tyus scored 11.
ORU trailed for the first 8:33 of the game, but used a 13-3 run
to take the lead and never trailed again.

Turning Point
With ORU up nine points with 18:11 to go in the game,
Denell
Henderson blocked Tre'Shawn Thurman's dunk attempt, leading to
a Korey
Billbury jumper to push the lead to double-digits for the
remainder of the game. The block was part of a 7-0 run in just 22
seconds by the Golden Eagles.
Individual Leaders
Oral Roberts: Korey
Billbury's dumped in career high 34 points, while also grabbing
seven rebounds and dishing out five assists, all game highs. Obi
Emegano added 23 points, Bobby
Word scored 12 and Jabbar
Singleton got a career high 10 points on a 3-4 shooting
effort.
Omaha: CJ Carter scored 19 points while Mike Rastampour
and Marcus Tyus scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. Jake White
had a team-high five rebounds while Devin Patterson led the
Mavericks with four assists.
Inside the Box Score
- ORU shot 60 percent (17-28) in the second half and
58 percent (36-62) for the game, its highest shooting percentage of
the season.
- The Golden Eagles helped themselves at the free throw line,
converting 20-22 trips, also the best percentage of the season.
Omaha on the other hand hit just 12-20 from the free throw line in
the game.
- ORU hit 10 3-pointers in the game, the fourth time this season
to hit double-digits from long range.
News & Notes
- After trailing for the first 8:33 of the game, ORU
used a 13-3 run to take a 28-23 lead.
- After Jake White's layup tied the game for Omaha at 28-28, ORU
scored the next seven and never trailed again. ORU trailed for just
8:33 in the game and has not trailed for more than 9:22 in a game
at home this season.
- A dunk by Korey
Billbury to end the first half gave ORU its largest lead of the
half (10) at 53-43. It was the fifth basket in the final five
seconds of a half for ORU this year.
- The 53 points scored were the most for ORU in a first half since
scoring 53 against Central Arkansas January 11, 2014.
- A 16-4 run in the second half put the game away for the Golden
Eagles, pushing the lead to 70-51 after an Adrion
Webber 3-pointer.
- ORU had not scored 100 points in a game since dropping 102 in a
102-81 victory at UMKC on February 10, 2011.
- In addition to Billbury's career night, Jabbar
Singleton posted the first double-digit scoring output of his
career.
- The Golden Eagles have now won 10 straight home games.
