FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Two Golden Eagles score 20-plus points each as the Oral Roberts women's basketball team overcame a 15 point deficit to win at Purdue Fort Wayne Thursday evening, 79-73.
Purdue Fort Wayne came out and went on a 16-0 run. Rylie Torrey hit the first field goal for the Golden Eagles to end the run. ORU went on a 7-0 run to end the first quarter and cut the deficit to 19-13 to end the quarter. Despite Purdue Fort Wayne shooting 42 percent in the first, the Golden Eagles held the Mastodons scoreless for almost three minutes.
Sarah Garvie made it a two-point game when she hit her second three-ball of the game on ORU's last possession of the first half. ORU ended the quarter on a 10-2 run and Torrey led ORU with 10 points in the first half. The Golden Eagles went 4-for-6 from long range in the second and shot 58 percent from the field.
ORU took a lead with four minutes to go in the third when Keni Jo Lippe drove the lane for the layup. The Golden Eagles extended its 7-0 run to 14-3 to end the third and take a 55-50 lead. The defense held strong and forced another scoring drought and held the Mastodons to 27 percent shooting from the field.
The Golden Eagles went up by as much as nine in the fourth. Lippe and Torrey combined for 23 of ORU's 24 points scored in the quarter. Lippe went 9-for-9 from the free-throw line and Torrey went 4-for-4 from three-point range. The Golden Eagles shot 43 percent in the quarter and finished the game with a 79-73 advantage.

Oral Roberts: Lippe scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Purdue Fort Wayne: Anna Lappenkuper scored 23 points and Sh'Toya Sanders recorded nine boards.
