TULSA, Okla. – Winners of three-straight league games, the Oral Roberts men's basketball team looks to continue its success hosting Kansas City at the Mabee Center January 23 and 24 at 7 p.m.

Scouting the Opponent
• The Golden Eagles own a 24-10 record in the all-time series against the Roos with wins in each of the last 14 meetings dating back to 2005 and are 12-4 in games at the Mabee Center.
• Kansas City had its weekend series with Western Illinois canceled due to COVID-19 and last played at home suffering two losses to South Dakota Jan. 8-9. The Roos have dropped four of their last five outings.
• Kansas City ranks sixth in the nation shooting 52 percent from the floor, while sitting 17th in the NCAA in scoring defense allowing just 61.4 points per game. Brandon McKissic (15.8) and Josiah Allick (15.5) pace the Roos offensively with Marvin Nesbitt Jr. (10.8) joining in double figures.

• ORU picked up its second-straight road sweep of Summit League action taking both games in Denver over the weekend.
Max Abmas led the Golden Eagles with 34 points in game one of a four-point win, while
Kevin Obanor added a team-best 25 points in game two's 91-82 victory. In total, ORU had four players average double-digit scoring for the week as Abmas (24.0) and Obanor (18.0) were joined by
RJ Glasper (14.5) and
Kareem Thompson (10.5).
• The Golden Eagles continue to rank second in the NCAA hitting 11.6 3-pointers per contest, led by Abmas, who sits 17th in the country making 44 total triples. ORU has five players in the top 10 of the conference in made 3-pointers hitting at least 20 from distance.
• ORU finished the 2020 calendar year with a 10-1 record at home inside the Mabee Center and had the toughest non-conference schedule in the nation this season according to KenPom. The Golden Eagles are 19-2 over their previous 21 home contests dating back to the 2018-19 season.
• After making a season-high 29 free throws in 34 attempts Saturday at Denver, the Golden Eagles moved up to No. 5 in the NCAA behind a 81 percent free-throw percentage. Glasper leads ORU hitting 94 percent of his tries, while Obanor and Abmas shoot above 88 percent. The trio has combined to make 138 of the team's 193 total free throws.
• ORU was picked to finish second in The Summit League Preseason Poll behind only defending regular season co-champion South Dakota State.
• The Golden Eagles have eight new faces for 2020-21 with two grad transfers (
RJ Glasper,
Justin Lovvorn), two junior college transfers (
Sheldon Stevens,
Kareem Thompson) and four freshmen (
Jonathan Alexandre,
Jamie Bergens,
Nate Clover III,
Ismael Plet).
