LAWRENCE, Kan. – Saturday afternoon, the Oral Roberts men's and women's track and field team began its season at the Bob Timmons Challenge, hosted by the University of Kansas. The meet marked the beginning of a six-meet indoor slate for the Golden Eagles and the first of two trips to Lawrence. The Golden Eagles return to the University of Kansas on January 28 for the Jayhawk Classic. 
 
News and Notes
  • Aden Baughman and Adrena Mazzei both claimed victories in their first distance races for the Golden Eagles. Baughman, an Air Force transfer won the 800 meter run handedly, topping the next closest finisher by more than four seconds. Mazzei, a transfer from Tulsa, led the way for a 1-2 finish for ORU alongside Megan Lundstrom in the 1 mile run.
  • Vernezia Henderson notched a personal best in the weight throw, clearing 12.94 meters.
  • Shalom Olotu and Brad Dormeus proved why they were named to the Summit League Athletes to Watch list. Olotu matched her indoor PR in the long jump at 5.73 meters while Dormeus claimed titles in the 400 meter dash and the 4x400 meter relay.
  • Kevin Jackson claimed the individual title in the 60 meter dash after racing to a personal best 6.76 second finish.
